Heartburn is a burning sensation in the chest after eating food or drinking. Sometimes fluid may leak into your mouth.
This is called acid reflux. It normally occurs after eating certain spicy foods, taking certain medications, being pregnant or having a hiatus hernia
There are two ways of treating it. The first one is to use a product like Gaviscon Advance. It has a sea weed component which when mixed with stomach acid, froths and forms a foam layer to stop the acid from rising any further.
The other way is to use a product that stops acid production. This is a product called Nexium and is very effective.
