Bacterial conjunctivitis causes redness, soreness and a gritty feeling in the eye and is commonly associated with a yellow sticky discharge.
It is contagious and can easily spread from one eye to another and throughout the family.
Towels should be changed daily for drying face.

Chloramphenicol is ideal to treat this problem. We have selected the eye ointment as it doesn't need to be kept in the fridge.
People who wear contact lenses should discontinue use whilst being treated.
