Hepatitis A vaccines available from our branches

You may have read reports about people who are struggling to get Hepatitis A vaccines in the media. We have stocks of this vaccine. There is no need to go without this. We are able to administer this vaccine in our branches. We have Hepatitis A vaccines and also vaccines which contain a mixture of Hepatitis A and B. Your pharmacist will be able to advise you on the best vaccine for you.

 

Who needs a Hepatitis A vaccine?

We recommend this vaccine if you are travelling abroad to a high risk area. Areas with high levels of infection include: the Indian subcontinent, Sub-Saharan and North Africa, parts of the Far East, South and Central America, and the Middle East.

Your employer may also recommend this if you work in some laboratories, some large residential settings or with sewage or primates.

 

How many vaccines will I need?

There are various schedules depending on which vaccine you have. Normally if you have Hepatitis A on it’s own then we will recommend two doses six to 12 months apart. Your pharmacist will advise you on what is best in your circumstances.
