Do you have diabetes – have you had your flu jab?

NHS England have asked us to check whether people with diabetes have had their flu vaccines. We will be asking people with prescriptions for diabetes medicines who come into our pharmacies this week if they have already had a flu vaccine. There is new guidance that specifically applies to the 150 microgram dose, for children under 25Kg. Children above this weight are now being given the 300 microgram dose. Run out of medicine at the weekend? Your pharmacist may be able to help with an emergency supply. If you have run out of medicines at the weekend, you may not need to wait for an out of hours doctor to write you a prescription. Your community pharmacists  may be able to issue five days’ supply of most medicines at weekends when your doctors surgery is closed.
